USA Storm Chasing Expedition - 26 April, 2009

Waking up in Dillon, Colorado..  (Snowing) -8 Deg C.

Very cold.

Frozen lake..   Time to head to Kansas. (and drop down 8000 or so feet)

You have got to be kidding..  Where is the sign "If the credit card slot is frozen, see attendant"

Heading up, before I go down.

Entering the tunnel, on my way to Denver.

It's like Christmas. (Just not in Sydney)

Snow all gone.

Passing Denver, driving at 75mph towards Kansas.

Almost there.

Almost....

Long drive..

I see clouds.

I think I drove 480 miles today..

Aha.. Leaving Colorado.

In Kansas.

What didn't work today, was the storm moving away from me.

Moving at 55mph.

I had no chance catching them.

Still..  Enjoy the Mammatus Clouds.

Nice.

Wind power.

Working harder than usual.

Very low cloud base.

I see the edge of the storms.

Surprised I even got rained on today.

Checking in to Hotel. A big re-location day.

Nice sunset though.

RADAR IMAGES

The street atlas with GPS positioning is working perfectly.

I'm the little white dot and circle to the far left...  A long way to go.

Going as quickly as I can.

Zooming into a storm, that I am nowhere near.. (Yet)...  Better luck tomorrow.
