USA Storm Chasing Expedition - 03 May, 2006

Forecasting the day's activities...

What the ?... I've heard of Baseball sized
hail... but not hail baseballs !

Our storm chasing friends gathering in a
carpark at Childress, TX

Here we go....

Storm No 1... Died out quickly, but we soon
chased another.

Same shot, different exposure..

Looks like the start of a Tornado.. But
it's just a pretty cloud.

The dark skies lie (or fall) ahead..

hmmmm... Nice.. (an HP Supercell) - So I
have been advised..
\
A Tornado started to form, but there was
not enough rotation...

This was the cute little (Pathetic) wannabe
Tornado that never was...

The Supercell growing..

No comment required...

Brush your hair.. you look ridiculous!...

Tornado warning.. (See the red area
below).. Note: we are the little white car in the middle.

Hurry up already... take the shot..
Lightning is hitting all over the place..

Another nicely contrasted photo...

Jimmy does it again... He said there would
be storms...
(and he was right..... again...) ...... Why is he always
right....?

Nick and Brad doing their thing..
YES.. the sky was dark and this photo was not taken in a studio.

Another photo, after recovering from the
bullet wound.

Parking... Hey look!.. No
parking meters...

I don't really know why I have put this
photo online, as the last photo clearly shows you where we are....
I just happened to process the image.... and.... well........ really could not
be bothered deleting it.

Damn... (Note: we are the little
white car).
YES.. I know... we have those scary little red deadly circular things
behind us....

The small burger place in the middle of
nowhere gets bombarded with storm chasers.
The poor girl behind the counter, didn't know what to do.
Fast food, took 34 minutes to be served. (Honestly... we timed it...)

Pictures from our hotel in Hamlin, TX.

More lightning..

Wow...... What a day...
