About This Site:
This website was created in July 2007 after a recent photography expedition in the United States and Canada. The gallery is rapidly expanding its content with a future concentration on Australian based photography.
About The Photographer:
Daniel Shaw started his development in computing in 1989, later working in retail electronics in the early and mid 90's. After a number of years his career moved to IT management and he soon ran a successful computer support business.

His interests in music and major event productions led him to work with an Internet Broadcasting company. Skills developed quickly and he gained valuable experience in the engineering and broadcast sector. Camerawork was soon to be added to his list of duties and he took to it like a duck to water.

Daniel's creative work flourished with producing, filming and editing hundreds of dance / music related video clips for the Internet. His work has been showcased and archived on the website www.inthemix.com.au

With a growing interest for productions and camerawork, his career evolved once again working with a leading Sydney based production company. His skills were honed and valuable experience was gained with live camerawork, live audio, production lighting and vision mixing. Daniel worked on numerous major productions featuring people such as the Australian Prime Minister - Hon John Howard, President Bill Clinton, Governor General - Sir William Dean, along with a host of other celebrities.

In early 2002 work in the Television News Industry became the next challenge. An extraordinary amount of time was spent sourcing and chasing local & national news. Still working in the IT industry, productions and Internet Broadcasting this new career path was by far the most demanding, challenging and exciting to date.

Over the years, his camerawork has been utilised by: Nine Network, Channel Ten, Channel Seven, ABC Television, Sky News, Channel V, The Weather Channel, SBS, Aurora Public Television and CNN.

Daniel's interests didn't just stop with news, he also had a love for severe and violent storms. In mid 2005 he joined forces with Australia's leading storm chasing team and planned future projects and documentaries. In 2006 the team travelled around the USA chasing Tornadoes, the storm season was weak at best, but without a doubt the most thrilling and content rich environment encountered to date.

News Camerawork still being his first love, Daniel soon added photography to his skill set. In 2007 a two month photographic expedition to the USA & Canada enabled him to acquire a huge catalogue of photos.

Daniel's efforts are now geared towards the growth and quality of the content available on this website.

Future plans and ambitions involve another two month expedition to Alaska via the top end of Canada, leaving the USA from Florida. Further plans also include the production and filming of Australian based documentaries.
